<p>The Sustainable Products Initiative (SPI) is a key part of the new Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP), one of the main flagships of the European Green Deal, and a pillar of the New Industrial Strategy for Europe. Through the public consultation, the Commission is gathering opinions from the public and relevant stakeholders on the main policy options for a Sustainable Products Directive that might be published still before the end of 2021.</p>

EU DG Energy has asked a team of consultants from Trinomics, Guidehouse, Öko-Institut and Ricardo to provide support to the impact assessment and the stakeholder consultation process on the review of the EPBD. A series of workshops will be hosted from 31 March 2021 onwards.

The minutes of the launch meeting of professional refrigeration regulation review have been published on the project website. The second and final meeting with stakeholders is scheduled for October 2021, to be followed by a Consultation Forum indicatively in March 2022. This may possibly lead to a revised regulation by the end of 2022.

New version of EPREL (software: 1.41.0, exchange model: 2.7.8) has been released in the ACCEPTANCE environment on Monday, 09 March 2021 at 16:00h, to let organisations perform testing and schedule necessary adaptation. The same version will become available in the PRODUCTION environment from Wednesday, 18 March 2021.
