During their meeting of the Eurovent Association Product Group ‘Air Handling Units’ in Zoetermeer, Netherlands, members have elected Mr Martin Lenz (TROX GmbH, Germany) as their Chairman and Mr Andy Bijmans (Systemair B.V, Netherlands) as their Vice-Chairman. The two take on their positions from Mr Kees van Haperen (Rosenberg, Netherlands) and Mr Gunnar Berg (Swegon, Sweden). Van Haperen had been leading the Product Group since 2002. Both of them had been active participants since the 1990s and now decided to pass their Chairmanship on to a new generation.

During the meeting of the Eurovent Association Product Group ‘Energy Recovery Components’ in Brussels, Belgium, on 28 September 2017, members have elected Mr Peter Müller as their new Chairman, effective as of 1 January 2018. He is one of Europe’s leading experts in this field and Managing Partner at POLYBLOC AG (Switzerland) – a pioneer in advanced heat recovery systems, which has been producing heat exchangers since 1982.

During a dedicated meeting in Madrid, representatives of AEFYT (Spanish Association for Refrigeration Technology), AFEC (Spanish Association for Manufacturers of Air Conditioning Equipment) and the Eurovent Association have signed an agreement to jointly organise the 2018 Eurovent Summit. It was announced that the next edition of Europe’s major gathering for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies is going to take place in Seville, Spain, from 25 to 28 September.

During their 60th Annual Meeting in Versailles, France, members of the Eurovent Association from more than 20 countries have unanimously confirmed the presidency of Alex Rasmussen, who is going to serve Europe’s Industry Association for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies for an additional year. Rasmussen has been leading the Eurovent Association since May 2015 on a mandate of the Danish Ventilation association.

During the 60th Annual Meeting of the Eurovent Association in Versailles, France, Francesco Scuderi (Italian, born 1981) has been assigned Deputy Secretary General of Europe’s Industry Association for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies. Scuderi’s assignment is immediately effective and initiates a further generation change within Europe’s leading HVACR sector association. In the upcoming years, the Electrical Engineer is gradually taking over responsibilities of the ongoing Secretary General Felix Van Eyken.

During the seminar Refrigeration2030 (Wednesday, 17 May 2017, Paris), high-ranking speakers and guests from around Europe are going to elaborate on how technologies and legislation in Refrigeration, Process Cooling, Food Cold Chain could evolve. Next to Dr Denis Clodic (President & Director, EREIE), the seminar is going to see presentations and statements by key association representatives, as well as industry leaders such as Carrier, Daikin, ebm-papst, FRICO, EPTA, JACIR, and Tecumseh.

During an online press conference, the Eurovent Association (Brussels) and Eurovent Middle East (Dubai) have officially launched #IAQmatters – a joint initiative of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) manufacturers in Europe and the Middle East, which provides solutions to ensure a healthy indoor climate. #IAQmatters was developed in close cooperation with leading experts such as Prof. Geo Clausen from the Section for Indoor Climate and Building Physics at Denmark Technical University (DTU). Prof. Stefano Cognati, President of REHVA, is one of the campaign’s patrons.

<p>Eurovent has just published its Position Paper related to the European Commission Guideline Document on the European Commission Regulation 2016/228. Eurovent and its Members hold that the EU Ecodesign regulations and measures are a powerful tool to achieve the European Union energy saving targets and to ensure the level-playing-field. Eurovent does not regard these measures as a burden, but as a motivation to further innovate while contributing to progressive thinking throughout all sectors of our industry.</p>

As the first-ever association from Europe, Eurovent has received the honour to give a keynote presentation at the renowned CR 2017 Forum during the Opening Reception of the China Refrigeration Expo in Shanghai. In a well-received speech, Eurovent Secretary General Felix Van Eyken has elaborated on the ‘past, present and future’ of HVACR legislation technologies in Europe, with a focus on the heating sector and heat pumps.

The Eurovent Association and Uniclima have officially announced their event Refrigeration2030, which is going to take place on Wednesday, 17 May 2017, 10:00-16:00 (CET), in Paris, France. Refrigeration2030 constitutes an interactive forum for trends and developments in Industrial and Commercial Refrigeration, Process Cooling and Food Cold Chain. The event has received a wide support of the refrigeration sector and is organised in cooperation with AFCE, AFF, AICVF and PERIFEM. Speakers include leading sector representatives from around Europe.

The Product Group ‘Air Filters’ within the Eurovent Association has released the first edition of its guidebook ‘Air Filters for General Ventilation’. On 28 pages, the document provides for a hands-on introduction to all important aspects related to air filters. It constitutes the first of many measures within Eurovent’s upcoming #IAQmatters awareness raising campaign.

The European Ventilation Industry Association (EVIA) and the Eurovent Association have come together to release the third edition of a joint comprehensive FAQ on Ecodesign and Energy labelling requirements for ventilation units. It aims to provide answers to the many questions the market still has concerning EU Regulations 1253/2014 and 1254/2014 to ensure their proper implementation.
