The European Parliament’s lead committee on the Critical Raw Materials (CRM) Act – the ITRE Committee – has adopted and published its report. The Plenary vote is scheduled for 2 October.

In August 2023 the third edition of the EEPLIANT3 newsletter was shared, presenting the results of the product inspection and testing activities on, air conditioners and comfort fans, ventilation units and local space heaters.

Technical trilogues on the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) were held in July between Parliament, Council and Commission. The focus was on the scope of the Directive, one of the key questions being whether the EPBD should deal with important co-benefits such as Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) or not.

In May 2023, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) published a final rule adopting procedures for fans and blowers. As editorial errors were identified since publication, DOE published on 8 August a correction notice.

After the brief feedback window closed, the European Commission adopted the sustainability reporting standards supplementing the Accounting Directive as amended by the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
