Policy Updates

On 29 January 2024, the European Council adopted the new F-Gas Regulation. The vote by the Council closes the adoption procedure.

On 16 January 2024, the European Parliament endorsed a deal reached with the European Council on a new F-Gas Regulation with 457 votes in favour, 92 against and 32 abstentions.

The European Commission opened on 23 November 2023 the Innovation Fund 2023 call for proposals. 1.4 billion EUR is made available for cleantech manufacturing projects focusing on energy storage, heat pumps, renewables and hydrogen.

The European Parliament and Council of the EU reached a provisional agreement on the revised Product Liability Directive on 14 December 2023.

On 13 November, a political agreement was concluded by the European Parliament and Council of the European Union on the Critical Raw Materials.

On 11 December, the Eurovent delegation attended the first info session about the revision of the lot 21 (Regulation EU 2016/2281). The Commission will work to adopt the new Regulation by 2026.

On 7 December, European Parliament and European Council negotiators reached a political agreement on the recast Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).

On 4 December, European Parliament and European Council negotiators reached a provisional deal on the new Ecodesign for Sustainable Product Regulation (ESPR).

The European Parliament adopted its negotiating position on the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation proposal on 22 November.
